October, 2009 - I got my MFA from Stanford and now live in Seattle(?!)
My wife, Sarah, just started a grad program at UW, so we’ve relocated. I have some commercial work in the area and hope to get another project or two off the ground to start shooting in the spring.
In other news:
-My thesis film, Famous 4A, was a semi-finalist in the Angelus Awards, but sadly did not make the final round. A site for the film will posted shortly.
-Mr. Mack’s Kitchen just played at the Red Hook Film Festival.
-Bob’s Knee will be having a broadcast on NJ Public TV as part of a Black Maria retrospective. More details are coming.
March 31, 2009 - Some news on the festival front:
-Bob’s Knee won the ADA/Audience Award in the Black Maria Film and Video Festival. This is a touring exhibition, recently seen in Florida, hopefully coming to a screen near you (or me.) I did an interview for the Gulf Coast Times regarding the festival and the film. Click here.
-Bob’s Knee won the Jury Award for the Best Documentary Short at the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival. We went up for the screening and ate some great food, sipped some wonderful wine and did a nice bike ride...along with seeing some great films and meeting other filmmakers. It was a great event! -Mr. Mack’s Kitchen will be having it’s World Premiere at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, CA! This looks like a fun event and I plan to be at the screening with Mr. Mack and a few iron chefs. The film will be in competition for best student documentary, so I’ll try to get a solid local turnout. Dates and venues will be posted here.
-Bob’s Knee is an Official Selection at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Missoula, Montana. Bob’s Knee is part of the Short Program “Some Dreamers” and will be playing on Feburary 16th at 9:45pm. For more information click here.
-Bob’s Knee will also be at the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival on March 6th in Sebastopol, CA. I hope to be there for the Q&A and may hang around the next day to sample some of the local cheeses. To learn more click here.
-Circus is Life and Bob’s Knee are also playing at the Dam Shorts Film Festival in Boulder City, NV. Both are in the “People to Meet” Program, playing on Saturday, February 14th at 2:00pm. For more information click here.
